Premium Fiji Live Rock comes from the Island of Fiji in the South Pacific. A & V Reef Aquatics Handpicks all of our Fiji Premium Live Rock to assure it is the highest grade of Fiji live rock possible. Once the rock is in our facility, we sort Fiji Premium based on the overall appearance and coralline algae coverage. It may have been flown in as Fiji Premium, but there is always an amount we find that does not meet our standard. It is discounted as foundation rock, or broken into sump rock We do not pass it along to our customers as Premium as our competitors do. Premium Fiji rock is then placed in our vats of fresh synthetic seawater, re-hydrated, and when the orders come in, we carefully package each piece, and place them in an insulated cooler like container, and then that goes in a final corugated shipping box. Fiji rock contains many interesting shapes depending on where it is collected from on the reef. We see both oblong and boulder like shapes, fused colonies that are the result of ancient coral colonies along with ombination of all the descriptions above. Every piece is unique and a celebration of the oceans ability to create beauty from nature. Coralline algae will be on the rock face of each piece. This coraline algae will become part of the beauty of the aquarium, once introduced into your tank.
